Novelty 3-D of April 27, 2008

After the lunch break the STEEL DEER challenge was shot.  The target is a steel deer with a hole cut out as the scoring zone.  The target is set at an initial range and every participant takes one shot.  Those who scored stay in the game, and those who missed are out.  The deer is moved further away and the shooters left in the game shoot again.  This cycle continues until there is only one shooter left, who is the winner.  All the other shooters lost more than just the prize.  The two divisions were Traditional and Freestyle.

The infamous STEEL DEER.

Roger and Chris waiting their turn while I check my arrow before the shot.

This was shot at about 30 yards with stick bows.  (OK, they're high-tech broomsticks!)

The pictures above are the freestyle archers, and this is their first group.

Roger Gross, winner of the STEEL DEER Traditional class.

Brandon Ogden, winner of the STEEL DEER Freestyle class.
